July 2026 Offshore Fishing Report — Murrells Inlet, SC

Offshore has been stacked lately out of Murrells Inlet. The reefs and wrecks off the Carolina coast are holding a strong mixed bag right now, and the Reel Blessed crew has been putting it together trip after trip.

Grouper (Rock Hind, Yellowedge & Scamp)

Grouper action has been consistent on the deeper structure this month. Rock hind, yellowedge, and scamp are all in the mix, which is typical for a good July bottom trip out of Murrells Inlet.

Summer is prime time for bottom fishing the reefs and ledges off the Grand Strand, and the variety in the grouper catch reflects healthy structure and good water conditions offshore right now.

Vermilion Snapper & Triggerfish

Vermilion snapper and triggerfish have been rounding out the fish box alongside the grouper. Both are dependable summer species on South Carolina's offshore reefs and a great sign the bottom bite is holding strong.

Jacks and Mahi Mixed In

Jacks have been showing up on the reefs as well, adding some rod-bending action between bottom drops. Offshore, mahi are in the mix too, right on schedule for peak summer mahi season along the Carolina coast.

It all adds up to a solid mixed bag trip right now, from the bottom to the surface.
